Jax Jones in concert commission for The Guardian newspaper.

Real name Timucin Kwong Wah Lam, Jax Jones is an English DJ, record producer, songwriter and remixer.

I was tasked by The Guardian to shoot pictures tax jones in concert at his recent Bristol gig.

His concert at SWX, Bristol, saw him performing to a sell out crowd.

AS PRESS PHOTOGRAPHER YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO TURN YOUR HAND TO ANY SITUATION.

For the reason that working for the press one usually only gets a few minutes with the subject.

In the case of gigs like this one usually only gets the first 3 songs in the pit area.

This was the case shooting Jax Jones in concert.

After that it is either out the door or possibly you can get shots from the crowd area.

Luckily the latter was the case here.

So after the first 3 numbers I managed to get access to the balcony area as well.

His show is geared towards hard heavy dance music.

No guest vocalists or live band, Jones is silhouetted against a huge video screen from within a lofty rack of synths and pads.

Furthermore he did play basss guitar for a song or two.

but mostly it was great Dj set , spinning discs and mixing tunes.

Most noteworthy was the great light show.

As can be seen in this picture and in contrast to smaller venues he created a great atmosphere.
